Technology is not free. Costs include: computer hardware, computer software, Internet access, network infrastructure, technical support staff, end-user training, etc. SMG Computing realizes schools are nonprofit entities working with a limited budget. This makes it difficult for schools to obtain desperately needed, high quality Information Systems it desperately needs. SMG Computing works to help schools obtain a high quality Information System with minimal financial burden.

Several clients of SMG Computing have received large E-rate grants to fund their Information System. SMG Computing is a Certified E-rate Provider. Additionally, SMG Computing has started a new grant writing department to assist its clients acquire funding for non E-Ratable projects. By having this combination, SMG Computing eases the financial burden caused by the rising costs of technology.
